Born in Madrid and cherished worldwide, San Ginés has served its signature churros and chocolate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year—spreading joy one dip at a time. Presidents, pop icons, Oscar winners, and sports legends all make the pilgrimage for a taste.
What began as a close-knit family venture is now a global phenomenon, winning hearts across Spain, the United States, Argentina, Mexico, and Portugal while preserving the warmth and authenticity of Spanish tradition.
And now, Manila becomes our flagship home in Asia. We’ve brought our master chocolateros straight from Spain so every churro, cup of chocolate, tapa, pastry, and buttery croissant tastes exactly as it does in Madrid. Get ready, Manila: a truly Spanish experience is about to arrive.
Our Founders— The Trapote Family
Pedro Trapote—born in 1939 in Valladolid—earned the nickname “King of Hospitality” after reshaping Madrid’s nightlife and dining scene for more than sixty years. From pioneering the city’s legendary Pacha nightclub to building Grupo Trapote, his portfolio spans icons like Joy Eslava, Teatro Barceló, Cervecería San Andrés, and, of course, Chocolatería San Ginés.
Today, the second and third generations of the Trapote family carry that legacy forward—taking San Ginés beyond Europe and the Americas. Their first stop in Asia? The Philippines, bringing Madrid's very best to Manila.
