The world’s most famous chocolatería reveals its first Philippine address, opening soon at the Podium.

A taste of Madrid is making its way to Manila. Chocolatería San Ginés—Spain’s century-old institution best known for its churros and thick hot chocolate—is preparing to open its first Asian flagship at the Podium Mall.
Since 1894, San Ginés has been a beloved stop in Madrid’s cultural map, serving its signature churros con chocolate from a tucked-away passage near Puerta del Sol. The Manila location will bring all that (and more) to our side of the world in a setting that pairs the brand’s historic identity with the city’s energy.
“As a chocolatería beloved around the world, San Ginés deserves a home in the Philippines,” said Pedro Trapote, founder of San Ginés. “The Podium is the perfect venue—sophisticated, accessible, and at the center of Manila’s culinary energy.”
The upcoming café will feature San Ginés’ signature green façade along with heritage recipes and a menu that goes beyond its famous churros. Expect Spanish comfort favorites like paella madrileña, tortilla española, and the famed San Ginés chocolate cake. Plus, an expanded selection of brunch dishes and fresh-baked pastries.
